Sadly, after two years of effort, my Interesting Things page still lacks much of interest. Cynics may say that this is a reflection upon the creator. I prefer to think of it as a technical hitch no scanner, no nice piccies. So anyway, here's a few interesting things for your delectation.
| The House | See dramatic photos of the interior of a typical UK suburban semi. Find out what it's really like to be in the 21st century but live in a house designed for the 19th. |
| The First Crusade | Visit my
pages on the First Crusade. I was
going to do a comprehensive look at the whole event, but this is as far as I got. Worth a
look though, in my humble opinion. You might also like to check out my oh-so-unprofitable bookstore featured to books on crusades (shoulda featured books on sex instead...). Finally, there's a draft (sadly abandoned) of a novel I was writing set during the First Crusade. |
| More Medieval | In late 2000, I got an email from the people at meome.de saying that they were setting up a UK version of their site, and inviting me to be one of their editors. Well, they almost got there, but have since made the transition from a dot com to a dot gone. I wrote a few articles for them though, on William Rufus, the Battle of Montaperti, and Nennius. |
| Global Warbling | Recently, I've taken to debating climate change with obfuscating Americans. I got so bored of saying the same things over and over, so I wrote this FAQ file. |
The development of my Interesting Things page is predicated upon me getting a scanner. If you would like to fiscally contribute to the Tom's Place Scanner Appeal, please Email me by hitting the Money Bunny below:
| The
Scanner Appeal Pledge-O-Meter currently stands at: A big thankyou to all the following generous pledgers! Dr Ian White of Stevington, Bedfordshire |
Not convinced?
Need to know what you'll get for your
money? Well here's a list of some of the exciting things I have lined up for your
delectation:
| Places | All about some of the groovy places I've visited. Like Zanzibar - the Spice Island, Australia's Blue Mountains, Transylvania and, of course, Bedford. Not forgetting South West Rocks, of course, home to many a fond memory - often involving water... (thanks Anne |
| Cars | When it comes to cars, I like 'em big and fast. Here you can find out all about the cars I've owned and loved, like the Smooth X-Reg Gold Fiesta, the Funky A-Reg Silver Nissan Cherry, and my latest: the Spanking N-Reg Fiesta Diesel. No, life doesn't come much better than these babies. |
| People | Hey, my Dad's Mayor of Deal! Well, at least he was when I created this page. Now he's the ex-Mayor of Deal. |
| Digs | Places which I've dug, man. Only one so far, but going on archaeological excavations takes money you know. For more information on ways in which you can help, see the Money Bunny, above. |
| Wisdom | Pearls of wisdom that I've had published in the popular press (oh, here's some rubbish I prepared earlier). |
| Some Other Stuff | As and when I think of it. All right? |
Congratulations! The fellers at
say you're visitor
number to this
page.
